Over time, some marking inks may penetrate the disk and reach the reflective layer.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-size:small;\"><span style=\"font-family:Times New Roman;\">Keep dirt or other foreign matter from the disc.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-size:small;\"><span style=\"font-family:Times New Roman;\">Store discs upright (book style) in plastic cases specified for CDs and DVDs.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-size:small;\"><span style=\"font-family:Times New Roman;\">Return discs to storage cases immediately after use.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-size:small;\"><span style=\"font-family:Times New Roman;\">Leave discs in their packaging (or cases) to minimize the effects of environmental changes.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-size:small;\"><span style=\"font-family:Times New Roman;\">Open a recordable disc package only when you are ready to record data on that disc.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-size:small;\"><span style=\"font-family:Times New Roman;\">Store discs in a cool, dry, dark environment in which the air is clean.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-size:small;\"><span style=\"font-family:Times New Roman;\">Remove dirt, foreign material, fingerprints, smudges, and liquids by wiping with a clean cotton fabric in a straight line from the center of the disc toward the outer edge.
