Thank you for taking the time to respond,Bill. I have seen your blog in the past and thought it was well thought out and informative for the consumer looking to get their family legacy films duplicated to DVD. I REALLY liked the fact that you don't have any hype in your blog and never bad-mouth the competition. Once in a while I get requests for film to video providers in California and will put you on my list. Almost nobody is willing to put their totally unreplaceable family films in the mail.

Alas, another company that agrees with me. I've been harping on this point for a long time. I wrote an article in my blog about this very point.

http://www.homedvd.ca/2011/05/22/certain-truths-about-amateur-film/

My customers still insist however on a 1080 scan while I try to promote at least 720p. There is very little film volume out there that will benefit from an HD transfer for small gauge film.

I met you and your wife at a wedding you video'd at Blessed Sacrement in Midland, MI this summer and you gave me your card. I am interested in transferring a box of my old movies to DVD. My plan is to put stickers on each box and number them so we have a reference point. Have you transfer them to DVD with no sound and then I will record my mother narrating them and add the sound track to each of them myself to complete the process. I like the tree structure of reels that you provide and hope I can produce the same structure after adding audio. I'm sure there will be some sorting of reels that I need to do based on chronology. How do you suggest we proceed with this process?

Thanks for you help :)

8mm film conversion to a digital format is the best way to preserve your treasured memories. You don't have to leave old movies in storage simply because it takes too long to set up a projector to view them. When you do a 8mm film conversion to video, you can watch it any time you please. You can even convert your film to a digital format for editing and duplication purposes.

The advice that book a wedding bus is economical and environmental. In my opinion, a bridal car is absolutely not necessary to be too luxury and comfortable one is the most important.

That was too good Cooley! Michigan excels in music. It's important to preserve it. I lost my album from Tappan Jr. High in Ann Arbor for the 1967-68 school year. Has someone had one of those fine CD's made of that? Could they? I don't know who has one. I haven't lived in Ann Arbor for 40 years. I don't remember any of the kids names that were in the orchestra. When I left Ann Arbor I went from a Jr. High Varsity Orchestra of 50, to a high school orchestra of 6. (4 violins, 1 viola and a borrowed cello player from college.)
